Swim Team, Freezepop, and Enon rock Brandeis

With bouncy electronic beats and odd bass work reverberating through the speakers, Enon opened up their set in Levin ballroom with The Nightmare of Atomic Men. Enons entertaining, though rather brief, headlining set rounded out a wonderful line up for WBRSs annual Fall Fest show. Although the show was marginally attended, with the musical mastery of openers Swim Team and entertaining highlights of Freezpops set, the show truly stayed afloat.

The keys to the universe

Hey, hey. Over here. Look at this lamp. We need to take this lamp.

And where do you propose we put it, huh? Do you plan on waltzing out the front door with it hidden in your shoe?

But man, this things got to be worth a ton. These rich folks always buy expensive furniture. Ill bet its from, like, Naples or Albania or something.

merely to present a glimpse into a human life.

maybe, God willing, I can now leave it behind me…

Be a patriot: spike your thanksgiving turkey

November once again comes to a close. We say goodbye to it with puffy eyes and a tear dripping down our noses, because by this point in the year it is way too cold not to suffer from constant outpourings of perpetual nose-drool as I do. I dont know about you, but I for one can quench the thirst of several small nation-states such as Monaco and Djibouti with the volume of nose-drool my glands synthesize every day.

NFL week 10 recap

Wide receiver Troy Brown once again played on both sides of the ball (both wide receiver and cornerback) on Sunday as the depleted New England Patriots managed yet another last minute victory as they defeated the Miami Dolphins 23-16. The Patriots, who were without running back Corey Dillon, still managed a decently balanced offense with the help of ex-Seattle Seahawk Heath Evans, who ran for 84 yards, which was more than he gained in his last two seasons in Seattle alone. Despite the victory, the Patriots secondary was still a little fragile, with Miami Quarterback Gus Frerotte throwing for 360 yards and two touchdowns. The Pats also lost two more players to injury: Center Dan Koppen and Cornerback Randall Gay. The Patriots finished the first half of the season after having played the toughest first half of any team in the league, and look forward to a much easier second half schedule.

NBA early season recap

Why I Love College Basketball

It is an exciting time of year to be a sports fan, and not just because Im rolling through the playoffs in my Xbox season. The last month brought us the return of both hockey and basketball, the hot stove league is warming up, and were half way through the football season and heading towards the playoffs. The BCS debates are beginning their annual take over of the sports page as the college football regular season has only a few more weeks before it gives way to bowl season. If the mainstream sports arent your thing, last weekend saw the Los Angeles Galaxy win the MLS Cup and the NASCAR Chase for the Cup is in full swing. All of this is good, but the reason it is great to be a sports fan? The greatest of all sports, college basketball, is about to begin.

Wsoccer falls to Clark in ECACs

After upsetting the second-seeded University of Southern Maine in the quarterfinals of the ECAC tournament, the Brandeis womens soccer team came into the semifinals looking to manufacture another upset victory against #3 seeded Clark University. However, this time the Judges fell tragically short, winding up on the wrong side of a 3-2 decision. Brandeis took the lead 15:32 into the game on a Lauren Gregor 06 goal, but Clark answered just three minutes later to tie the match. Clark then went ahead when Liz Adamcik tallied in the twenty-fifth minute. Luckily for the Judges, Meredith Millstein 09 was able to get the equalizer for Brandeis, and the game went into halftime with the scoreboard reading 2-2.

WBasketball season preview

Last season they went 23-4, 10-4 in UAA play, and won their second straight ECAC Championship and enter this season ranked number 8 on d3hoops.coms preseason poll.

Sun Kills Mouse with Tiny City

Every music fan has their individual dream team: a band compiled of their favorite musicians into one massive supergroup. Yet, with the result of a number of actual supergroups being less than stellar, such as the short-lived Eyes Adrift (featuring members of Nirvana, Sublime, and the Meat Puppets) and the rather boring, formulaic Audioslave, other music fans, and some bands, strive for their ideal cover group. Just imagine the possibilities: System of a Down covering the Rolling Stones, the Polyphonic Spree covering Metallica, Green Day covering Pink Floyd. Even now, the Pixies could confound and astound music fans around the world by covering the one band whos success was dependent on their inventive musical output: Nirvana. While the possibility of any of these musical oddities actually occurring, Sun Kil Moon have taken that very leap with their latest release, Tiny Cities, an entire album compiled of Modest Mouse covers.

AWUBY-DUBY-ZUBY-BUBY-WOO!

For as long as I can remember, humans have been reproducing themselves through a well-known biological process known as reproducing themselves. Unfortunately, I cant remember anything before my fourth birthday party. I therefore conclude that before that point in time, there were no biological processes. This makes perfect sense. Stop furrowing your brow in bemusement.
