McDonald’s revisited; The Travvy Patty

My peaceful Wednesday afternoon was interrupted by my girlfriend, Sasha, coming in and telling me that we were going to McDonald’s and trying their new spicy chicken nuggets. I cannot say that I was against the idea, but let’s just say that the spicy chicken nuggets were not the McDonald’s novelty that I was interested in. While looking at the menu, it was the new Travis Scott meal that grabbed my attention.

The Travis Scott meal consists of the Travis Scott burger, a medium fries and a medium drink (although the classic is Sprite, you can change it out), which costs $6 pretax. The Travis Scott burger was really nice and featured some new additions to the classic McDonald’s burger. Although I am not a fan of lettuce, adding it onto the burger was definitely a good idea. In fact, I might even get extra lettuce next time. Do I even have to say that bacon on a burger is always a good idea? Well, it is. It added just the right amount of flavor without being too overpowering. However, what impressed me the most, given that this was a McDonald’s burger, was that the burger patty itself was not dry at all; in fact, it was very juicy. The only thing that I would add to this new burger is mayonnaise, maybe even incorporate it into the ketchup to make fry sauce. There was nothing too special about the fries or drink, but I do have to say that I enjoyed the Tangy BBQ sauce that came with the meal. Overall, it was a very nice purchase.

My dessert was served when Sasha gave me half of her Chips Ahoy McFlurry, which also happens to be a new menu item. The McFlurry is classic vanilla soft serve with caramel and bits of Chips Ahoy. It was very tasty, though it was on the sweeter side of the McFlurry scale. I loved the texture difference between the chocolate chip cookies and the soft ice cream; that was probably my favorite thing about the ice cream. The caramel was a very nice addition, and they also give you a lot––I’m not surprised Sasha wasn’t able to finish it by herself! I was stuffed, too. I am definitely going back to McDonald’s for another meal sometime soon.
