To acquire wisdom, one must observe

Conan Gray is the up-and-coming pop icon you need to listen to. If his name sounds familiar, you may know him from his old YouTube days or from his most famous single “Idle Town.” Only 20 years old, he manages to perfectly capture the essence of Generation Z, which he playfully calls “Generation Why” in his single by that name. He may only have eight songs on Spotify, but all eight are absolutely incredible. My personal favorite is “Crush Culture.” Trust me on this one—your playlists will thank you! —Emma Lichtenstein

Don’t sleep on “Killing Eve.” I did—I thought it looked the same as all the other British detective TV shows. But Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s (“Fleabag”) show about Sandra Oh trying to track down a European assassin is incredibly well-written, performed and produced. An eight episode series, there’s very little time wasted, and every episode feels necessary and dynamic. Sandra Oh is a goddamn icon. I can’t wait to review season 2. —Noah Harper
