Read into it: get some chick lit

Okay, I know. I should probably be ashamed to admit that I read books from the genre known as “chick lit.” These books are supposedly predictable, boring, and too girly. But, I love them and I know most of you out there do too!

Although these five books are equal contenders, The J.A.P. Chronicles, by Isabel Rose, is one of the best. Rose uses flashbacks to describe the lives of a group of Jewish American Princesses at summer camp. This book is enjoyable for any girl who went to camp or remembers the trials and tribulations of growing up.

Coming in second is Bergdorf Blondes, by Plum Sykes. Sykes follows two socialites through the streets of Manhattan and their frivolous lives.

Lauren Weisberger, author of The Devil Wears Prada, returns to the literary stage with her new book about publicists in Manhattan called Everyone Worth Knowing.

Curtis Sittenfeld's Prep focuses on the Ault School, a private high school in Massachusetts. This book will make you remember all of the horrible people you wish you could forget from high school.

Last, but not least, is The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella, author of the Shopaholic Series. It follows Sam Sweeting, a Londoner who exchanges in her high profile job for the country life after losing 50 million pounds.
