St. Louis reliever Cal Eldred retired earlier this week. He had a career ERA of 4.42 over 14 seasons, mostly with Milwaukee. He spent the last three years with St. Louis as a reliever, amassing an ERA of 3.41.
Seven-time Gold Glove winner Vic Power died earlier this week of cancer. The four-time all-star was one of the first Hispanic players in the game. He batted .284 over twelve seasons with six teams.

Doug Christie retired last weekend after an ankle injury hindered his ability to play. Dallas dropped Christie from their roster after he retired. Christie played in parts of 14 seasons throughout which he averaged 11.3 points and close to 2 steals per game. Christie was drafted by Seattle with the 17th pick of the 1992 draft, but never played for them. He played the majority of his career for Toronto and Sacramento.
