The women's tennis squad split its first week of competition by dropping the season opener to Middlebury College 9-0, before sweeping Smith to even its early season record at 1-1.

Jenica Horning 07 cruised to a victory (6-0,6-1) while Jen Krueger 07 won her match with similar ease (6-3,6-0)

In the doubles matches played indoors, Krueger and Colleen Donnelly 08 won their match 8-0.

Earlier in the week against Middlebury, Brandeis was shutout in its first action since the fall. The Judges greatest highlight was Krueger 07 taking her opponent, Amanda Berck to three sets.

In the final set, Krueger lost a 10-6 heartbreaker to Berck.

The Judges have a two and a half week hiatus before trying to break the .500 threshold when they host Babson College, March 30th at 3:00 p.m.
