The Department of Library and Technology Services (LTS) has changed the IP channel lineup for the spring semester based on the results of a 440-student poll taken early this spring.
The most surprising substitution was that of the local Fox network, which had over 12,000 hits last fall. The LTS-IPTV website describes the voting process as a ranking system, the results of which are then weighted. The student union then works with LTS to provide a balanced variety of programming for the semester. LTS also replaced MTV, CNN, the Food Network and the Japanese channel in the fall semester's lineup with the addition of ABC, NBC, the History Channel, Cartoon Network and the Fox Soccer Channel. The NBC channel will serve as a “hot channel”, replaced as needed for popular events, such as baseball and basketball games.
