Reinharz email details parking situation for open house

April 6, 2007 President Reinharz sent an email to the Brandeis community detailing the parking changes for the prospective student open house taking place Thursday April 19, 2007.

President Reinharz explained in his email, Spring Open House is the single most important admissions activity for undergraduate students. The students, whom we have admitted, are in a position to choose from among the very best colleges and universities in the United States. As Brandeis strives to enroll the brightest and the most dynamic class each year, it is critical for our community to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to these admitted students and their families.

In order to accommodate the 650 students and their families, T-lot and X-lot will be reserved for those visiting students. Faculty, staff, and commuter students who park in T-lot will be relegated to 130 Turner street and on-campus residents who park in X-lot will be relegated to J-lot behind the Charles River apartments. Shuttles will run between 130 Turner street and Brandeis from 7 am to 6 pm. Drop off locations are Usdan and the peripheral road by Spingold Theatre. An extra shuttle will be available between 6 pm and midnight between J-lot and campus. Those parked in J-lot will be able to return their cars to X-lot after 7 pm.
