Brandeis women’s tennis closed out the dual match portion of the fall season on a positive note, swatting aside Simmons College 6-3 at home. Rachel Rosman ’11, Gabrielle Helfgott ’09, and Mackenzie Gallegos ’11 had strong matches on the day, all winning their doubles and singles matches. Nina Levine ’12 picked up the last point for the Judges, needing three sets in the number five match 6-2, 5-7, 10-4 to add the extra tally. Simmons remained alive after taking victory in the number 6 singles match 2-6, 1-6 over Davida Judelson ’12 but Helfgott’s victory in the number two singles match clinched the win for the day. Brandeis is now 2-0 for the season and wrap up the fall leg of their schedule October 17 through the 19, at the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Tennis tournament.
