In their first meet of the new season, both the men’s and women’s cross country teams took 3rd, with the women’s team getting 82 points and the men’s team getting 94. The Wheaton-and-Babson-hosted event took place in Suffolk, with the women’s course being 3000 meters and the men’s course being 5000 meters.
For the women’s team, Kyra Au ’25 ran a 12:04.75 which netted her 17th place, Sadie Harrow ’27 ran a 12:18.39 and earned 25th place, Ella Warkentine ’26 ran an 11:58.79 which was good for 8th place, Anna Batelli ’25 ran a 12:14.56 to grab 20th place and Zada Forde ’25 followed closely with a 12:14.70 for 21st place. The Brandeis team took 3rd overall at the meet, behind Suffolk University and College of the Holy Cross.
For the men’s team, Henry Nguyen ’25 PR’d with a 16:29.95, putting him in 17th place. Rob King ’26 PR’d too, with a time of 16:41.57 and 20th place. Parker Cook ’28 ran a 16:52.96 in his first college race, grabbing 36th place. TJ Carleo PR’d here too, with a time of 16:23.31 and 14th place. Lucas Dia PR’d too, with a time of 16:15.60 and 10th place. These scores and others put the men’s team just behind two D1 Schools (Stonehill and Holy Cross) in the overall meet standings.
Next, both teams will race at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. They’ll also return to this course in Suffolk when Brandeis hosts the University Athletic Association (UAA) championship there later this year.
