Men’s soccer currently ranked third in UAA Conference

During this past week, the men’s soccer team has played one game. This game was another University Athletic Association (UAA) game for the Judges as it was against the University of Chicago (UChicago) Maroons. This game was held on Saturday, Oct. 14 following the women’s soccer team as a part of the Brandeis Family Weekend and 75th Anniversary celebrations.

Heading into this match, either team had one UAA win for the season and was hoping to collect another win to make it two. Though the Maroons were able to out-shoot the Judges 19-10, the Judges held their ground and stopped the Maroons from scoring off of their six shots on goal. The Judges’ three shots on goal came during the later minutes of either half. The first was shot by Ethan Wool-Lewis ’25 in the 42nd minute, the second was by Rainer Osselmann-Chai ’26 in the 79th minute and the third was shot by Sancho Maroto Tobias ’24 in the 82nd minute. Maroto Tobias also led the Judges with four of their ten shots taken during the game.

Brandeis keeper Quintin Wrabley ’25 had his first UAA clean sheet with his performance during this game. He also made his second-most saves ever during a game with six during this match.

With this being the men’s soccer team’s fifth tie of the season, they have set a new record for most ever in a season before. With their impressive season, they currently sit in third place in the UAA standings with four regular-season conference games remaining this year.

Looking ahead, the men’s soccer team is headed to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend to play the Emory University Eagles on the evening of Friday, Oct. 20. They will follow this match with another game on the road, this time against the University of Rochester on Sunday, Oct. 22.
