The best fruit out there: part 2

Welcome back to my random rankings of different things. This week I am going to continue my rankings of fruits. Last week I ranked the “bottom” 25 fruits from a list that I randomly got from the internet. A lot of those fruits I have never tried before, but this week within the top 25, that is completely different.

  1. Coconut

We start the list off with coconut. I find coconut to be an extremely polarizing fruit. Most of the time you either love it or hate it. Ironically I am putting it directly in the middle of the list. Anyways, I am not the biggest fan of coconuts in general, however it is difficult to find anything wrong with coconut water and coconut milk. So I think coconut has its place at 25.

  1. Kiwi

I barely ever have kiwi. I think for a while my family thought my brother was allergic to kiwi so we never ate it. The things that stick out the most to me are the texture and fuzzy part of kiwi. Once you get past those things, kiwi actually tastes decent. I have to say the strawberry and kiwi Capri Sun will always have a place in my heart even though I know there is barely any kiwi in it.

  1. Blood Orange

Blood oranges have a fascinating taste. They kind of remind you of grapefruits and oranges at the same time. They look the part too considering it looks like it got stabbed and started bleeding all over the place.

  1. Normal Orange

I really do enjoy normal oranges. The sweet and sometimes sour taste makes oranges have such a universal taste. You can add it to different dishes and obviously make juice with it. My only issue is that sometimes it is a pain to eat. Seriously, why do I feel like sometimes I need to take a shower to get all of the orange pieces off of my hand.

  1. Mandarin

I think you can see where this is going. The variants of oranges are much easier to eat. They still have the same great taste as a normal orange, just with half the trouble.

  1. Tangerine

Alright this is the last orange variant. Tangerines are seedless and not super sweet. I think the ranking really depends on the mood you are in.

  1. Clementine

Okay I lied. This is the last orange variant. I promise. Clementines are sweeter than tangerines and also seedless. These orange variants solve the problem that I have with normal oranges. They are much easier to eat. They are such a snackable food. The only sad part is when you get seedless and then nearly choke on a seed cause you aren’t paying attention.

  1. Grapefruit

Yeah there is a whole citrus thing going on here. I don’t really have a lot to say about grapefruit. It’s fresh and just solid.

  1. Starfruit

Did anybody have to do star jumps in gym class? I remember my gym teacher telling me we had to yell “Imma star” everytime.

  1. Cherry

I don’t really like cherries that much. However, when you give me a bowl of them I can’t stop eating them. They are just a really addicting fruit. Once you eat one, you gotta keep eating them.

  1. Passionfruit

I really like passionfruit juice. I rest my case.

  1. Lemon

I think the flavor of the lemon is in the top five. However, it is difficult to eat just a lemon. So at 14 it goes.

  1. Cranberry

Cranberries are a well used fruit. Dried cranberries though are the best. They are such a great snack. Sorry Victoria Morrongiello ’23 that they will kill you.

  1. Papaya

Papaya has a fun texture and is super sweet. Also, it gets points for being fun to say.

  1. Lychee

I don’t really understand lychee very well. They are good, but a bit overrated in my opinion.

  1. Blackberry

I didn’t know this company also made fruits.

  1. Mango

Mango is just the universal tropic fruit. Everytime I see something tropical on a menu there is mango in it. It does taste good though alone and in other things.

  1. Peach

Apparently she’s being played by Anya Taylor-Joy in the new Super Mario Bros. movie. That movie is not going to be good. Chris Pratt is playing Mario. Wait, this isn’t a movie review. Peaches are a good fruit.

  1. Nectarine

Better version of a peach.

  1. Blueberry

They put blueberries in a lot of bread things. You got muffins, pancakes, waffles, cake and so much more. Surely they have to be good then.

  1. Grapes

Green grapes are better than red.

  1. Strawberry

This is another addictive fruit for me. Give me a bowl of strawberries and you might not get that bowl back.

  1. Cantaloupe

I have no idea why but as soon as I typed cantaloupe I thought of Jamie Trope ’25. Maybe the words just go together.

  1. Pear

This is probably a little bit controversial. I could have put different types of pears, but I like all pears equally. They are just better versions of apples.

  1. Banana

I actually think pears taste better than bananas, however bananas are definitely the best fruit. You can put them in so many things and you can eat them at any time. I could talk forever about how great bananas are but maybe for another time.

  1. Tomato

It is simultaneously a fruit and a vegetable. So it is simultaneously on this list and not on this list.

This list I got was weird. It didn’t have multiple versions of apples. Anyways, that’s a top 25 ranking of fruits. At least this time at first I actually put something that fit the criteria.
