Thank you for writing SSIS! This is a great question, and something that a lot of college students have questions about. It may be helpful to start by having a conversation with your roommate. This could involve coming up with a weekly schedule to have the room to yourself, or creating a system to let each other know when you want to be alone. Some options include a sock on the doorknob, establishing a schedule (Wednesdays are your day and Thursdays are their day), or a code word! It’s possible that your roommate may feel similarly, and setting these expectations early can make things easier later on.
