Summing up four years: a piece of advice and a reminder for myself

Seated on a plane, I consider how I can quickly sum up four years at university before the plane takes off, in a concise and beautiful way. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and have honestly been a bit stressed about how I would approach it. But, I think at the end of the day there is one key message that I think rings true for me.

Put yourself out there.

If you want something, strive to make it happen. It may seem pretty simple, but I have found while attending this school that the reason I had so many cool experiences was because I reached out. Talk to your professors, take that class that sounds interesting, even if it doesn’t line up with your major. There are so many paths that I had no idea I would pursue simply because I tried something new.

So, my advice to you, in college and beyond, is to pursue your interests, have fun, try something new. Make the life you want to see. Who knows what’ll happen!
