This week saw the womens swimming team go 1 and 1 while the mens swimming team won against both Babson College and Bentley College.

Last Thursday, the womens swimming team defeated Babson College by a score of 121 to 104. After losing the first event, Brandeis won seven straight events. Keara DeKay 08 won the 1000-Yard Freestyle to start this streak and the 500-Yard Freestyle. Sharon Makowsky 06 won the 50-Yard Freestyle and the 100-Yard Freestyle. Sarah Evans 06 took the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 200-Yard Butterfly. Lalin Anik 06 won the 200-Yard Freestyle and Aly Karp 08 won the 1 meter Diving events.

That same day, the mens swimming team defeated Babson College 122 to 93. Brandeis took a commanding lead right off the bat and kept it up, winning most of their events. Todd Berman 07 won the 50-Yard Freestyle and the 100-Yard Freestyle. Hal Grossman 07 took the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 200-Yard Backstroke. Loren Bach 06, Mike Rubin 09, and Bobby Morse 09 each won one event.
On Tuesday, the womens swimming team lost a heartbreaker to Bentley College by a score of 128 to 115. Bentley took an early lead when they won the first two events. Evans then won the 200-Yard Freestyle. Bentley won the next event to give them a 14 point lead, the largest of the day. Brandeis then won four straight events as Makowsky won the 200-Yard Individual Medley and the 200-Yard Butterfly, Charlotte Rhea 08 won her first of two Diving events, and Evans won the 100-Yard Freestyle. Bentley then came back and retook the lead. Brandeis got the lead back temporarily after Makowsky won the 500-Yard Freestyle, but Bentley won in the end.

Meanwhile, the mens swimming team won 126 to 111. Brandeis took an early lead when they won the 200-Yard Medley Relay. Grossman won the 200-Yard Freestyle and the 200-Yard Backstroke. Berman won the 50-Yard Freestyle and the 200-Yard Butterfly. Ross Gercenstein 06 and Matt Lerman 07 contributed a victory in one event apiece.
