The Judges had two competitors this weekend who earned all-association honors at the mens and womens UAA cross country championships this past weekend at Washington University in St. Louis. Tim Condon 08 received second-team all-association honors while Camille Stevens-Rumann 07, took all-association citations. Both these runners led their respective teams and posted remarkable results on their 6k and 8k courses.
Neither Tim or me had ever won all-association honors in cross country before, stated Stevens-Rumman about their recent performances. We had both received citations in Track before, but never in Cross Country. Both athletes will go on to lead their teams in the upcoming championship meets and in the track seasons in the months to come. But for now, their success is both an indicator of their hard work and ability to have a great rest of the year as this season comes to a close.
The men's cross-country team earned national recognition, cracking the top 30 teams of the nationally ranked United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA). They were tied with UAA foe Carnegie-Mellon, ranking 29th overall.
