Since our last publication, the Track and Field teams have been busy, participating in four different meets. On Jan. 25, both the men’s and women’s teams traveled to the Wheaton College Lyon Invitational. On Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, the Judges attended both the Wheaton Invitational and the BU Terrier Invitational. On Feb. 7 and 8, the Judges attended the two-day Tufts Cupid Invitational.
The Judges were once again setting school records at the Wheaton College Lyons Invitational, which was a nonscoring meet. Aiana Colas ’26 won the high-jump event with a height of 1.67 meters, which tied the school record that was set in 2010. Colas’ score is tied for sixth place in Division III. Shaniece Nugent ’26 won the triple jump event with a distance of 11.30 meters. Alisha Anderson ’26 reached a height of 3.40 meters on the pole vault, which she won for a second week in a row. Jasmin Berganza ’28 won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.32 seconds. Hannah Bohbot-Dridi ’25 won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.51 seconds. She was the only competitor to complete the event in under one minute. The women’s team also had an excellent performance in the mile run, with four runners finishing in the top five. Ella Warkentine ’26 got second place with a time of 5:20.27. Sadie Harrow ’27 got third place, Lily McNulty ’28 got fourth and Kyra Au ’25 got fifth. Harrow and Au both set a personal record (PR).
On the men’s side, Alex Chan ’28 finished first in the pole vault with a height of 3.70 meters. In the 200-meter dash, three judges finished in the top six. Matthew Yue ’26 and Jordan Colon ’25 both finished with a time of 23.73 seconds, finishing third and fourth respectively. Danny Krigman ’25 finished in sixth with a time of 23.81 seconds. Yue finished in third place in the long jump, while Cam Pierce ’25 placed fourth in shot put.
The next weekend, the Judges split their squads, returning to Wheaton for the Wheaton Invitational and also competing at the Boston Terrier Invitational. The Terrier Invitational was a nonscoring event. At Wheaton, the men’s team scored sixth out of seven teams while the women scored fifth out of seven.
In Boston, Colas once again performed well at the high jump with a height of 1.60 meters. This was the fourth-highest overall and first in Division III. Nugent was the best DIII competitor at the triple jump with a height of 11.26 meters. Anderson reached a height of 3.35 meters on the pole vault to finish in the top 10. McNulty finished 55th in the 1000-meter with a time of 3:12.16. The women’s 4×400-meter relay team finished 19th overall and fifth among DIII teams. The team consisted of Berganza, Nugent, Sarai Sealy ’28 and Bohbot-Drisi. On the men’s side, TJ Carleo ’26 finished 139th in the mile with a time of 4:18.68, which was 12th among DIII runners.
At Wheaton, Bohbot-Dridi placed second and set a PR on the 200-meter with a time of 27.13 seconds. Colas won another high jump event with a height of 1.64 meters. Kirsten Man ’25 also performed well at the high jump, coming in fourth place and reaching a height of 1.46 meters. Sealy won her second triple jump of the season with a height of 11.91 meters. Nugent placed second in the long jump with a 5.01-meter jump. Man set another PR in the long jump with a 4.74-meter jump, which was good for fourth place.
On the men’s side, Chan set a PR at the pole vault with a height of 3.85 meters, which earned him a second-place finish. Eli Wawersik ’28 finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and set a PR of 8.98 seconds. Lin Lin Hutchinson ’25 finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.87 meters. The 4×400 relay team of Sam Rosen ’26, Wawersik, Krigman and Colon finished in fourth place with a time of 3:36.01.
The next weekend, the Judges faced 17 other teams at the nonscoring Tufts Cupid Invitational. For the men’s team, Wawersik finished third in the heptathlon, including a win in the high jump and a second-place finish in the pole vault. TJ Showstead ’26 finished 13th in the heptathlon. Yue finished 10th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.17 seconds and sixth in the long jump with a distance of 6.34 meters. Jon Klu ’27 finished eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.04 meters.
For the women’s team, Anderson finished in second place in the pole vault with a height of 3.40 meters. Nugent came in second place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.22 seconds, while Bohbot-Dridi was eighth with a time of 26.85 seconds. Sophie Segal ’27 finished third in the high jump with a height of 1.56 meters, while Emma Liu ’26 finished third in the 20-pound weight throw after throwing for a distance of 14.30 meters. Bohbot-Dridi finished fourth in the 400 meter dash, once again finishing in under a minute with a time of 59.69 seconds. Kayla DiBenedetto ’25 completed the 1000-meter run with a time of 3:08.77, good enough for fifth place.
The Judges will be participating in the BU Valentine Invitational and the MIT Gordon Kelly Invitational next weekend before returning to Wheaton to participate in the Wheaton Pre Post-Season Invitational on Feb. 22.
