In their final dual-meet of the regular season, the Judges swim and dive team has come away with another successful sweep, this time against Clark University.
The women won their side of competition 159-116, while the men’s team won 164-84, almost doubling the points Clark scored. This was greatly reassuring as the next meet for the Judges will be the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in Chicago, Illinois.
Of the 31 events the Judges swam in, they won 26 of them.
There were two triple-winners for the Judges. On the women’s side was Becca Kaplan ’26 who won the 1000-yard freestyle, 100 free and 200 individual medley. On the men’s side, the triple winner was Benjamin Lee ’26 who won the freestyle sprints as well as the 200 IM.
Nationally-ranked Sam Dienstag ’24 then went on to win both the 1000 and 500 by large margins.
Tal Spector ’25 won the 200 free and the 200 butterfly for the men as well.
Anastasia Bekou ’25 then went on to win both of the backstroke events, the 100 and 200 while her teammate Riley Pasicaran ’27 did the same for the men’s team, claiming two more wins.
In the breaststroke events, Audrey Teo ’26 and Ryan Schulken ’24 went on to win both of these events for the men and women Judges.
In the butterfly events for the women, Chloe Gonzalez ’25 claimed another sweep for the Judges as she won both the 100 and 200 in this event.
Closing out the notable performances for the day, Jenna Wild ’26 won the 500 freestyle for the women while Luke Abrahamson ’27 won the 100 butterfly for the Judges.
As for the relays, the Judges swept all of these events as well. The 200 medley team for the women included Bekou, Kaplan, Gonzalez and Teo, while the 200 free relay made up of Maya Haubrich ’24, Wild, Gonzalez and Teo also won. On the men’s side, Pasicaran, Schulken, Spector and Dienstag won the 200 medley, and Dienstag, Avi Borgen ’27, Schulken and Lee won the 200 free.
Looking ahead, the Judges swim and dive team will be traveling to the University of Chicago for the UAA Championships in one week, where competition will commence on Wednesday, Feb. 14th and go on until the following Saturday.
