Welcome to November, where the finals are getting closer but the midterms are still coming—WAITWAITWAIT DON’T GO YET! Look, I’m sorry for springing this on y’all. I didn’t mean to scare you away; I just wanted to have a clean intro, you know? Something funny to make light of the stressful situation that is school. But most of y’all live in school. It’s college. You’re surrounded by it. Sure, you have dorms and food and clubs, but it’s all under the guise that you eventually get your work done—OKOKOKOK SORRY PLEASE DON’T GO! That’ll be the last one. Maybe.
(Content warning: He will keep doing this. You have been warned)
Anyways, when I think about m*dt*rms and t*sts, I think of it in three stages: before, during, and after, and I act accordingly.
Before, y’know, the ex*m, ya gotta study and stuff, but really the most important thing is doing really responsible things like: Being Healthy™️, and Going to Bed at a Reasonable Hour™️. These are the most definitive pieces of advice, as, y’know, some of y’all can study at night, and others cannot. Others can cram the day before, and others can get up early to cover their bases (I can’t do any of that. I’m like the Megumi Fushigiro of t*st taking, all potential).
During the q**z or something, EVERYONE CHILL TF OUT!!!!! IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!! TAKE A DEEP F****NG BREATH, AND like get a drink of water? Try to relax a bit? Y’know, like give yourself some room in your head to breathe? The t*st might be important; that’s why you studied, that’s why you’re at school, y’know? So like, you’ve really come far. You’ve studied. You’ve slept well. You’ve had a good meal (probably maybe).
Now, you’re ready.
(Twenty to one hundred and eighty excruciating minutes later).
It’s OVER! YAY! The eeeeevil have been defeated! Therefore, it is time to NOT take on the next challenge immediately and blow out all your energy (unless you like, really, really, want to). Look back for a second. Say: “Hey, I did it!” Say it out loud. Maybe gather some friends or comrades in your t*st*ng journey. Say: “We did it! It is over! Time to pat ourselves on the back!” And then you pat yourself on the back. Because every moment in life, especially those you worked for, should be acknowledged for the struggle it was to go through.
And if it was easy, bruh idk, go study if you’re so smart. I’m not your Dad; do whatever.
