The Campus Activities Board (CAB) held Springfest in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The last Springfest held in person was in spring 2019. 

The event featured four artists: Kash Doll, Slayyyter, Young M.A. and Flo Milli. Events began at 11:00 a.m. with a snack bar provided by the Department of Community Living (DCL). From 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. there was a barbeque and various lawn games for students at Skyline and Ridgewood quads. Starting at 2:30 p.m. students were allowed to enter Chapels Field, which had been set up for the performers. 

Springfest is an event restricted to Brandeis students only; no outside guests were allowed to attend the performance, according to a post on the CAB Instagram page. Students were asked to present their Campus Passport upon entry. Passport colors were required to either be green or orange. Students had to swipe their Brandeis I.D.s to enter the event; to re-enter, students needed to show a stamped hand. 

The opener— Slayyyter— performed from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Slayyyter recently performed at Coachella, and her work incorporates aspects of pop from the 2000s, according to a CAB post. Also at 3:00 p.m., CAB provided free pizza to students. The second performer— Kash Doll— began at 3:45 p.m., according to a post on CAB’s Instagram. Kash Doll was once the opener for Drake’s Summer Sixteen tour at his Detroit stop, according to the post. Following the performance, students were offered catered pizza at 4:00 p.m. The third performer—Young M.A— started at 4:45 p.m., according to another post. Young M.A. is also the founder of the KWEENZ foundation—an organization that aims to help residents of Young M.A.’s former neighborhood overcome the grief of losing a loved one— according to the post. Following the final opening act, there was another round of catered pizza at 5:00 p.m. for students.  

The headliner—Flo Milli— took the stage at 5:45 p.m. and performed until 6:45 p.m. The event closed at 7:00 p.m., according to the CAB Instagram. Flo Milli is most known for her hits ‘Beef Flomix’ and ‘In the Party,’ which went viral on the app TikTok. 

The 2021 Springfest was held virtually via zoom.
